So just in terms of introducing myself.   My name is Jack and I was born in Texas to a Christian Family.   I'm 51 years old and live in Arkansas now.   I've considered myself Hindu for the last 10 years, but have never visited a temple.  I've been reading about Sikhism for the last year or so, and I love the beliefs and readings.   I feel Sikh in my heart.

Thanks,

Jack

Sat sri akaal, Harman.

Thank you for the link, I will read it.   Thanks also for the comments of Kundalini.   I was wondering if you or anyone has a recommendation for a good book to read that provides sections of SSGS with some commentary of important key aspects of Sikhi?

Blessings,

Hi Harman Singh.  Yes, I suppose shy is true.  I believe I have a fairly good understanding of the differences in Sikhi and Hinduism, and that's part of what has drawn me closer to Sikhi.    I do some yoga practices - mainly for exercise and "calming" affect.    In learning more about yoga I came across kundalini, which led me in a round about way to Sikhi.   I understand the situation with 3HO for example, and am not a follower.  But it did lead me to begin reading SSGS, and the words I read are wonderful to me, and match very closely to my beliefs.  There is a Gurdwara near my home, and I plan on visiting there soon.

Thanks and blessings,

Jack
