Vaaheguroo Jee Kaa Khaalsaa Vaaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!

Dear Cyber Sangat Jee,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that the 'New To Sikhi' 2011 retreat that took place yesterday; was OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was so  great to meet fellow members including Parminder Jee, Danka Jee, Amardeep Jee, Andy Jee and Angad Jee - such amazing sangat who are incredibly insipiring! I have never felt so close to Sangat and to the Guru... I'm still buzzing from it all!

I really cannot express into words how great the event was. Not only did we get to enjoy delicious veggie food and enjoy a nice warm cup of chai, but we also got to share and listen to the inspiring stories of our journies into Sikhee. We also got to recite paath together infront of the Guru. In both cases, it made every part of my body tingle with a feeling of warmth and bliss!

We also had the opportunity to participate in the making of prashaadh as well as turban tying!... Danka Jee, you looked great! :)

The Guru was with us each and every moment, through the words uttered by the Sangat and through the two hukamnamae we took, which related so perfectly to the discussions we had. Vaaheguroo!

I would like to say that I have met some incredible people who are the most amazing sangat! This could have only been made possible through this website New To Sikhi! I would like to thank Danka Jee for all the time, energy and effort she puts into the site. I highly recommend that users get more involved as well as promoting it to al their friends and family!

We are so very lucky to be have a platform like this, where people from all walks of life can communicate, share experiences and even meet up!  I would like to personally thank both Danka Jee (the website owner) and Parminder Jee (the organiser) for making this happen!

So the 2011 retreat was brilliant! Lets make the 2012 one, bigger and better! I highly recommend that all users attend next year!

Miss it and miss out!

Dear Sangat Ji

The following questions were posted at the retreat. We didn't have time to go through them but they can be posted as discussion topics.

1. Was Guru Nanak Hindu or Muslim before he became a Sikh?

2. Kalyug and the five thieves - what are they?

3. How to find inner peace through Sikhi?

Sat Nam Saranpreet Ji

Yes, lets start thinking of dates now and planning. It would be great to do it over 2 days including Sadhana.

Best wishes

Blessed, blessed is the Sat Sangat,
the True Congregation, where the Lord's Essence is obtained. Meeting with His
humble servant, O Nanak, the Light of the Naam shines forth.

Dear Cyber Sangat Jee

Waheguru Ji Ka Khlasa - Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

Thank you to everyone who made the New To Sikhi Retreat a success. Thanks to all the participants for blessing us with the gift of time. As you have said so eloquently, Ji - it was the connection to sangat which makes this site so special and made the retreat such a wonderful experience. When I read your review, it reminded me of the above line from Rehras, which we all recited together at the retreat.

I thank Danka Ji for her vision and seva in creating this forum and bringing the sangat together. May Waheguru continue to bless you Ji  and in the ardas we prayed for the chardi kalla of this site and community. I thank Guru Ji for bringing us all together and making this all possible. On Tuesday I was thinking of cancelling the event!

I will upload the two hukamnamas that we were blessed with and some reflections from the event.

It will be fantastic if we can do it again next year!

Wishing you all Chardi Kalla,
