WHEN A JEWISH GIRL FELL IN LOVE AND MARRIED A SIKH GUY

About Me

My real name is not Juliet and my soon-to-be-husband and I did not kill each ourselves in a passionate love story. But, I consider our story a love story, just as other couples may feel about themselves.

I am Jewish and my fiance, "Dev" is Sikh. So, maybe this is not a great "About Me" page because I am really not Juliet, and "Dev" is not really "Dev" but used for privacy, although many people who email me know our real names. I also feel that the blog is diluted with our background because it is 90% about us as a couple not about being Jewish or Sikh (although this was my initial intention). Oh well. The blog is almost one years old and I am not changing dynamics of it now.

We got engaged in March 2010 and we're getting married April 17, 2011 (and April 16, 2011). See the blog for more details. Our engagement was awesome! And our wedding will be even more fun! But, the reason I named this blog is because our journey to the present has not always been easy. But, all of that is in the past, and we are fortunate to have both families support as we continue our lives together. We are not exactly starting our lives together now, because we met in college in 2005.

I am a student studying teeth and Dev works in Advancement at our college. I don't know a field for that, but he raises a lot of money.

We had our first pretend child before we got engaged, don't judge. He is our black, Persian cat, Gizmo and he runs our lives.

I started this blog because I wanted to document our lives and I am terrible with diaries. I probably had 15 as a child and I never completed one. I also wanted some sort of platform to write about what it is like to be in an inter-faith relationship and soon-to-be marriage.

If you want to send me a message, I love email! Lots of people ask me all sorts of questions and it feels great to connect with others who share similar experiences.

Aria,

I am so sorry to hear it.  But this doesn't mean the end of the road for you either in life or visiting NTS.  Our elders always say that whatever happens, happens for good.  Probably he was not the right guy for you and the man up in the skies might have someone better for you with whom you can share your life.

Please don't get upset, this is what life is all about we are not sure what God has in store for us and what my suggestion to you is keep visiting this site, try indulging yourself chatting with others, by discussing with others and getting their views will make you feel relaxed and who knows you might come across a good human being, a nice guy who can understand you and your feelings.

I pray, WaheGuru Ji bless you and give you strength to overcome the difficult phase which you are passing through.

Bye.

Aria Ji,

What about your Sikh boyfriend.  When are you getting married to him?

 Regards.
