Welcome to our community! There are 12 of us at the moment. I would love to know if you speak/write Punjabi? Was it easy or hard for you?Continue

SSA Ji, Can I recommend myself? :P Though I do have the requisite proficiency and experience, I am rather short on time till December (unless it's small project!)
Thanks! VJKK VJKF
I am looking for someone who could translate a PowerPoint into Gurmukhi. Can anyone recommend a translator?

Hi Henrietta! Did you try forvo.com for pronunciation of words? I've pronounced many Punjabi words there. Also, if you are really interested in learning Punjabi, I also run a blog explaining various grammar rules as well as contribute to "memrise.com" where I volunteer for the "Basic conversational Punjabi" course. PM me in case you have any further doubt!! Happy to help :)
...I also am learning Punjabi as well as Gurmukhi...having a little trouble with the pronounciations but the Gurmukhi comes easier...
I am learning Punjabi and Gurmukhi, it's not hard as long as I keep up with my studies:) I hope to be conversational by this time next year, I started about 5 months ago.
I learned punjabi in few days although i learned shahmukhi as i was familiar with the arabic/persian letters. I am now learning gurmukhi. Overall its a good experiance.
I learned to write Gurmukhi (and read it) by watching the Youtube vids 'learn Punjabi in 5 days' where in UK a Punjabi Gianni teaches an English lady of Punjabi descent how to read and write Punjabi. This is the best way to learn for me via step by step visual training and then practice.
The downside is that my vocab is low so I don't know what I am reading
I need to learn assemblage of sentences with more vocab.. This is where I am lost.
I purchased the first 16 lessons of Pimmsleur speaking Punjabi on disc. it was so very basic like repeating Sat shri Aka, mostly greetings and asking simple directions for tourists .. that is was a waste of money if this is not your goal.
since that time I went to India Feb 2014 for one month..now even more determined to learn...but to get speaking training is basically non existent...I am now able to read somewhat but apart from simple and basic sentences,. I am unable to conduct a conversation...
If you have any suggestions or would like to report something or someone, please send me a message.
