Gurfateh,,Sister Cecile i understand how you must be feeling surrounded by Athiests ,just like Lions are outnumbered by sheepS , Sikhs are few to.Do ardas to the guru..The guru will himself arrange everything and bring you close to sangat.Guru takes care of his Sikhs,he protects them, nourishes them like a baby.Thats one of the best things about being a Sikh.Relax And Jap Naam:)

my brothers and sister gajke bulao fateh"waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh"..Sikhi is the saviour of humanity.. if you do not have access to gurudwara sahib near you , then do not worry.Sit and recite waheguru simran Guru will be beside you..Because our guru is Shabadguru(word guru). You can be anywhere for e.g at work, school, cafe,, but keep reciting waheguru ..that is how you walk towards the Great Guru, so he himself brings you close to him. That is how i started.Learn mool mantra.Recite when you are free..if you walk 1 step towards guru he walks 1000steps towards us..so start simran and rest live it to the guru

I guess we all have to adjust. When I was living in Latvia, I have never heard about Sikhi.Sikhism is a 5th largest religion but no one actively pursuing education of non-sikhs.

Alex@ hopefully the Sikh person you met, might be your mentor

Cecile@ let me know when you will translate your work into French, please let me know.

@Cecile, I guess you need to find Sikh friends. You can do it here on NTS forum or ask for an introduction into Sikhi from one of your gurdwaras.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I am from Germany, it seems like there are not many "new Sikhs" in Germany yet, but I hope to find like-minded people here to talk about first Sangat experiences and to exchange ideas about how to create a community which is welcoming to everyone regardless from which culture a person is coming from :)

Well, my first post should be placed here - a swede lost and confused (..and liking it!) in this religion that feels so far away from here, yet a little bit like coming home. Thanks for this site!
